There are wedding days that just flow, and Michele & Kyle’s was one of them. An April wedding at the Jersey Shore can go a hundred different ways weather-wise, but these two got the dream version – 75 degrees, sunshine, fluffy white clouds drifting over the water like they’d been scheduled in the timeline. A truly picture-perfect day for an Icona Diamond Beach wedding.
Michele & Kyle said their vows at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Cape May – a church with such a beautiful presence. Their guest list stayed on the smaller side, filled with their closest family and friends, and you could feel it. That kind of intimacy changes a room. Every hug lingered a little longer, every toast felt a little more personal.

After the Ceremony, we had a decision to make. The plan was to take the trolley from the church over to the beach for bride and groom portraits, but Michele and Kyle really wanted to catch as much of their cocktail hour as possible. So – wedding gown, suit, bouquet and all – they hopped straight into my car and we made a beeline for the beach.
It’s one of my favorite things about working with down-to-earth couples. They’re game. They don’t overthink it. They want the pictures AND the party, and they’re willing to pile into a Mazda, sitting next to my carseat in full formalwear to make it happen.
The beach delivered. That April light on the Cape May sand is soft in a way that only really happens before the summer crowds roll in, and Michele’s Stella York gown looked unreal against the water. We grabbed what we needed, laughed a lot, and got them back to Icona Diamond Beach in time to actually enjoy their guests.

Icona Diamond Beach is such a gorgeous venue for a coastal wedding – the ocean views do a lot of the heavy lifting, and their team runs the day beautifully. Florals from Wild & Crafted anchored the space, Chris Atwood from SCE kept the dance floor moving all night, and the cake from Bake Works was every bit as good as it looked.
What I’ll remember most, though, is how much love was in that room. Michele and Kyle are two of the sweetest, most genuine people, and their day felt exactly like them. Full of joy and their favorite humans.
I’m so grateful I got to be there for it!
